Northmoor

Northmoor is a small village and civil parish, 6.22 miles (10.01 km) west of Oxford and 5.27 miles (8.48 km) south-east of Witney, in the English county of Oxfordshire.

Northmoor has a 13th century parish church dedicated to St Denys, a village hall which doubles as a community meeting place and Christmas pantomime venue, and one remaining pub serving the community. It is set amongst fields (mostly given to raising lambs and sheep) in a part of the Upper Thames valley which has been designated an Environmentally Sensitive Conservation Area. Walkers and cyclists have many bridleways and footpaths. The village is on the Oxfordshire cycle path and public footpaths connect with the Thames path and Northmoor Lock, with the Windrush running close-by. Pleasure boats can be hired locally.

The nearest shop and Post Office are two miles (3 km) away in Standlake, and there are a variety of public houses and restaurants in the surrounding locality. There is a bus service running through Northmoor. (source: Wikipedia)
