CASTLE EATON, a small village located on the Wiltshire/Gloucestershire border between Swindon and Cirencester and home to the Red Lion, the first pub on the River Thames. Castle Eaton is quiet for most of the year with the summer months seeing an increase in activity as the Royal International Air Tattoo takes place at nearby RAF Fairford in July, and occasionally walkers making their way along the Thames Path that winds between the nearby towns of Cricklade and Lechlade.
